Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Veolang, a Chrome extension that auto-translates YouTube subtitles. By installing or using the extension, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.
1. Service description
Veolang translates subtitles already served by YouTube into a target language you choose. The extension runs in your browser; we do not operate our own translation server. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
2. Free plan and usage limits
The Free plan includes:
- Auto-translation across 12 supported languages.
- A daily limit of 10 video views. A video counts only after 20 seconds of playback with Veolang's translation active; opening and quickly closing a video does not count. The same video viewed multiple times on the same day counts only once.
- 7-day Lite trial on first install — automatically granted to new users. During the trial, all Lite features are active (unlimited daily usage, dual subtitles, subtitle download).
After the 7-day Lite trial ends, your account automatically downgrades to Free with the 10 videos/day limit. You may upgrade to Lite at any time to keep unlimited usage. The extension itself remains installed; only the daily usage limit applies on Free.
3. Lite subscription, pricing, and billing
- Lite is a paid subscription. Pricing varies by region (15 regions); current prices are displayed on the pricing page based on your detected region.
- Billing is processed by a third-party payment processor, who acts as the merchant of record. Veolang is the seller of the service; the processor handles payment processing, applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax), and chargebacks. The processor's name is shown at the point of purchase and on your receipt.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
- You may cancel at any time through the customer portal of the payment processor (link provided in your purchase confirmation email) or by contacting us at support@veolang.com.
4. Refunds and cancellation
- We offer a refund within 7 days of the initial purchase date, provided you have not made extensive use of paid features.
- For annual subscriptions, a pro-rata refund for unused full months may be granted at our discretion.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to Lite features until then.
- Refund requests: support@veolang.com. The payment processor's own refund policy may apply in addition to the above.
5. License and acceptable use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Veolang for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the extension.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the extension or any part of it.
- Circumvent usage limits, licensing checks, or any technical restrictions.
- Use the Service to violate YouTube's Terms of Service or any applicable law.
6. Third-party services
Veolang relies on YouTube and on translation infrastructure provided by YouTube. Your use of YouTube is governed by YouTube's own Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy, which we do not control. Service availability depends on these third-party APIs continuing to function as currently provided; rate limits or other changes by YouTube may temporarily affect translation.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, translation accuracy, or compatibility with future YouTube changes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate the Service, or your access to it, if you violate these Terms or if continued operation becomes commercially impractical (for example, due to changes outside our control). Upon termination, your license to use the extension ends and you must uninstall it. Sections 5, 7, and 9 survive termination.
9. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes shall be brought in the competent courts of Seoul, Korea, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction grants you the right to proceed in your local courts.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing and reflected by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Contact
For questions about these Terms, refund requests, or any other inquiries: support@veolang.com.
The seller of this extension is Veolang, not Google. Chrome Web Store provides distribution only. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor acting as merchant of record.
